Neuropsychological assessment:
Face-to-face, individual diagnostic procedure to determine the nature and extent of
person's cognitive deficits, as well as a profile of strengths and weaknesses.
Not intrusive and not invasive procedure performed in a private, comfortable outpatient
office (we have 4 locations in NY metro area!).
Determines whether your cognitive abilities remain within the age norm or have declined.
Recommended when there are symptoms or complaints involving memory, thinking,
concentration, organization, reasoning, language, perception, coordination, or personality.
Is very sensitive to mild memory and thinking problems that might not be obvious in other
ways. When problems are very mild, neuropsychological testing may be the only way to
detect them.
Used to identify problems related to medical conditions that can affect memory and
thinking, such as diabetes, hypertension, head injury, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s,
fibromyalgia, stroke, renal disease, post-operative cognitive decline, alcoholism, etc.
Used to help differentiate among illnesses, such as Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, dementia,
anxiety and depression.
Used to plan more effective treatment involving medicinal and non-medicinal treatment.
Test results can be used to plan treatments that use strengths to compensate for
weaknesses. The results help to identify what target problems to work on and which
strategies to use. For example, the results can help to plan and monitor cognitive rehabilitation or
to follow the recovery of skills after a stroke or traumatic brain injury.
